How to get started
House Hacking:
​This is the best strategy for new investors. This can be done for single family or Multi-family properties up to 4 units. You will live in one units or bedroom and rent out the others with the goal to have as low of a housing expense as possible
Benefits to House Hacking:
Low barrier to entry - Can do as low as 3.5% down payment for FHA loans and 3-5% down for conventional loans. VA Military loans and do 0% down payment!
Experience - Buying one property is the first step before growing your portfolio. After the first one the 2nd and third will come much easier.
Property Management - Managing real estate is something everyone should do once to understand the challenges it brings and have the understanding on what to look for in a property manager when you do decide to not manage the property yourself. House hacking will give you this experience to know if you want to do this in the future.
